What is Princeton best known for?

What probably comes to most peoples' mind, is Washington's idea to cross the Delaware river again in direction NJ to attack the British flank by surprise in early January 1777. This resulted in the so called "battle of Princeton"

Princeton is best known for its academics. Its contributions to the sciences in the 20th century are breath-taking (especially in physics and mathematics). Princeton is arguably the best university for intellectually inclined undergrads. However, the lack of professional schools and its relatively small size prevent Princeton from being the most prestigious university in the public eye.

what is a princeton student like? i know it's bad to stereotype and please no snide comments, I just mean how do people tend to act or what sets it apart from the other ivies? A friend characterized Princeton students as being outgoing. How else would you describe the student body?

elitism? *sigh* that can be said of all Ivy League schools. People need to stop ripping Princeton for it's supposedly "most elitist" population.
