Ivies look at a lot more than your grades and a brief listing of EC's. It's impossible to say without at least a prediction of SAT scores/recommendations/essays.

Ok, I am now working up the guts to post on
a non-overcrowded thread.

I thought I was the only crazy person hellbent
on Columbia ED this fall w/ a strong journalism
slant but •••• if that's not the case.

Anyways, I'm posting the following assuming it
will not change (for the college):

SAT I: 1390 770V 620M

SAT II: 760 Writing
710 Lit
680 French

grades: screwed up freshman year, but solid
since then. All honors/AP's with A's
in all except math.

AP tests: Language 5
U.S. History 4 (Our school does not
prepare us for this AT ALL.)

EC's: NHS--typical
French NHS, active officer in French club
VP next year in Speech/Debate
my third year
second year on newspaper staff--co-editor-in-chief
officer in Amnesty International
I have been to London, Paris and Rome and I
am from Moscow where I have been back to. I'm
going to the former next spring. Active volunteering at Holocaust Museum Houston.

--traveled extensively w/ S and D, journalism
and have been to numerous college campuses.
Very involved in college process and I have
family who recently graduated from Columbia,
though not legacy.

Other schools considering: Brown, Penn, Amherst,
Chicago, Trinity, Boston U

My essays/recommendations are expected to be
top notch.

Personal note: I know my SAT I score leaves something to be desired, but BELIEVE Me--I've
tried 3 times. What can I say? I suck @ math.
I don't believe in having an insane laundry list of EC's, I believe I can show a connection b/w
all of them. Now, honest opinions please.....
