I am an international student, currently at Hofstra University and these are my stats:
SATs(suck): 1020
SAT2s(not taken)
College GPA: 3.85
High School GPA: 2.2
TOEFL: 583
Extra: editor, mechanic, photography, film directing(hoby wise), soccer, trading stocks, basketball.
Honors: sociology
I am now a freshman(going soph. Sept. 2004) and I just got a rejection from Cornell. I plan to apply to Darmouth next year and retake my SATs and SAT2s. What do you guys think? What would you suggest?

well there's nothing you can do about hs gpa. however, they'll judge you mainly on your college achievements. keep up the college gpa, get some good recs from profs, really let the adcom know you want to go.
and obviously, you'll need to improve the sat I at least a couple hundred points and do well on the 2s. i assume it'll be tougher to get in because you're an intl; not sure, though. if you do want to go, don't worry about what other people think the chances are and just give it your best shot.

It's definitely worth a shot, but just know that Dartmouth is probably the hardest ivy to transfer into. Also- you definitely need to get that SAT up at least 400 points, if not more. Good luck!

dartmouth is in no way the hardest ivy to transfer into. harvard and yale are much tougher with their transfer admissions process. whereas dartmouth accepts upto 11% of their transfer applicants, yale takes only 4%.
