I just got waitlisted
For my application, I wrote down that I was going for a BA in cognitive science, even though lately I'm leaning more towards getting a BS in neuroscience.
so, my question is concerning the math/sci recommendation. I finally found my long lost chemistry teacher from my freshman year, (who is really the only person who could do the rec) and it would probalby be exceptional. I'm definitely thinking I should have done the math/sci thing. Anyways, I'm thinking about having him send in a general recommendation or the math/sci one to Brown now that I'm waitlisted. But at the same time I don't want to seem contradictory or inconsistent. Or that I'm bombarding them with crap.
What do you guys think?

p.s. This is my second year applying (rejected last year). Last year I said I was going for a BS in biolgy and had a professor and mentor for a science research apprenticeship that I did do the math/sci recommendation. Except I found out this year they don't accept that. But I know they got rid of all of last years files so they may not have any record or recollection of that...

I don't know....I would be really careful of bombarding them with too many recomendations. If there's something creative you can do to stand out, maybe try that, but i would definitely steer clear of sending more recs. I know an adcom who says most recomendations dont get read thoroughly at all.
