Does anybody know if Columbia has an arrangement where they can get you a discount for a laptop? I know the campus is wirelessly connnected and I'm gonna need one if I'm accepted.

there is an agreement to help you get it for a better price. I think that it may be through Dell or IBM. They also have something going with J&R Music and Computer World. Most of the discounts require a valid Columbia Username and PAssword. Check out the Columbia website for more information.

FYI, there are parts of the campus that are not yet wireless. Somewhere on Columbia's website there is a map of what buildings and outside areas are wireless.
