Has anyone attend or received an invitation to the Diversity Weekend. I weighing whether to go or not (as it would mean missing my prom) but I would like to know if it worth going to.

I got one...I'm definitely going, its a free trip to my first choice school and I have been wanting to visit for a while...the perfect opportunity. Where is everyone from? I'm from So. Cal.

I'm from NYC. Yep, I'm not that far away, but I'm glad Cornell is providing free transportation for the Diversity Weekend.

I also got the Dean Scholar's letter, their events are scheduled on the same weekend. Anyone got both? What are you planning to do?

i got one also. most definately I'm going. I hope to see some of you guys there. I suppose it is for acceptees. Cornell Days fall between the 8- 19th of April, and Diversity Weekend falls on the 15-18. So I guess its good news for those of you who are still questioning your status.

I was accepted early decision to Cornell University and I’m Hispanic. However, I have not gotten anything in the mail. Does anyone know if this is only for minorities accepted regular decision? I really want to go to this event, especially if they are paying for everything.

I was accepted ED so it can't be for only RDers. I also got the Dean's Scholar letter and I have no idea how you can do both.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the Dean’s Scholar letter? Also, when did you hear from Cornell about diversity weekend? Did you get anything else along with the letter? I wonder why some are getting this invitation while other are not. I really want to go!

It's a some sort of scholars' program, it says that only 60 or so applicants will be chosen. It gives you money for books and other expenses.

I just went to the Cornell website and found out what the Dean’s Scholar is. Congratulations! I know I won’t be getting this. I guess diversity weekend is only for a few chosen ones. Oh well.

The Deans Scholar thing is also only for kids in the CAS.

So, is Diversity Weekend at all indicative of any scholarships...or not. Either way, I am really happy I get to visit! Yay! I really hope I can attend in the Fall, but the more I think about it...the more scared I get about moving nearly 3,000 miles away. But I don't think anything will stop me except money.
