I just got a call for a second interview. Is it a really bad thing? I didn't even know that things like this existed.
Gah, I hope they dont assume anything weird about me. =\

Second interviews only happen if you are a serious contender for admission, and if there is a question about whether you should be admitted.
Examples of when this can occur: the original interviewer feels they didn't do a fair job of interviewing you (an example comes from Wash Post columnist Jay Mathews, who wrote that he inappropriately began to argue with a student about their course selection. After the interview, Mathews realized he was not fair to the candidate, and he asked Harvard to arrange another inteview for the student); the original interviewer's report was very different than what the rest of the application seemed to indicate.
Thus, take it as a hopeful sign.
