I was considering sending a video as part of my optional "what else would you like us to know?" section. I'm into video editing and filmmaking. Is this a good idea or not?
It's just a seven minute short movie. Not a true film - it was actually part of my Johns Hopkins essay. But it accurately portrays my style of filmmaking, and it's pretty cute and creative.
Should I send it? Or will the admissions counselors resent the fact that I wasted their time with it? I could always just send an extra essay or a poem or something. Please respond!!!

That sounds like a really cool, creative thing to do. I would, if I were you. Attach like a paragraph explanation or something.

Yes,definitely send a video. And as Voigtob says, use the form to convey what you want them to know about you and video/film making and editing. That way, even if they don't get around to seeing the video, they will get the idea. ;-) Not sure whether Princeton has a film or video program, but if they do you could ask them to send the video to that program. Or contact the folks in that program yourself and see what they want to receive from you. If all goes well, they will write a letter supporting your application. Good luck!
