Well I just got a call from a Princeton alum and now I have an interview on Saturday. I know others had their interviews week ago, so I'm wondering if this means anything.

I've said this many times to many people. The alumni interviews are completely up to the alumni association in your area. Princeton has NOTHING do with the process; they just give out names.
So don't worry!
btw, did you apply ED or RD?

ED. I know it's up to the alumni in my area, but I just thought it was odd that I got my interview so much later than everyone else.

i thought the adcom had to receive the interview evaluation by the first of this month.

that's what i thought too...

hmmm dont worry. it doesnt count for much, and its not mandatory so it wont ruin your app or anything.

try and make a good impression though, because in case you get deferred, a bad interview may not be so good...

That's what they told me too (about the 1st), but in this case it seems that the alumni assoc. was a little behind. Hopefully they contacted Pton to let them know....or maybe the admissions department just won't accept it this late. If they don't, it probably doesn't matter that much, since it wasn't the applicant's fault, interviews aren't required, and interviews just aren't generally that important.

Hey
How much does the interview count towards the admissions process.
especially for intl. students
Thanx

not much...unless you are a blatant snob/••••••• or the happiest, most gregarious person on earth.
at least, that's what I have heard.

I really, really think you're fine. The whole thing is organized by Alumni Associations and they communicate with secretaries in the office to get your personal info. That's it. They don't get your scores, your chances, your grades ... and if you don't get one (like me ... although my town is so remote there's no alumni and I'm pretty sure that's the reason!) you're FINE! :)
