My interview is Friday. Any advice? Please? lol
Also, I applied ED...can you please give any opinions on my chances? I'm nervous out of my mind, but I'm trying to be optimistic. I really love Columbia.
SAT I: 1340...but I retook Nov. 1, still don't have scores
SATII: Writing 720, Math IIC 630, Physics 570 (don't remind me, heh)...retaking on December 3 (obviously not in time for early, but just incase for Regular Decision)
I will be either Valedictorian or Sal. at my highschool, a small competitive public HS with a selective admissions process. All courses are taught at the honors level. Also, they offer AP Calc AB & BC. I'm currently in BC.
I could list all my EC's but it would take awhile. The one I'm REALLY passionate about is Navy Jr. ROTC. I am currently a c/Lieutenant Commander, as well as one of 4 Company Commanders in my unit. I even spent a week at the Naval Academy this summer; what an experience.
I have a job and I volunteered at a hospital for a year and a half.
I am very confident in my essay.
Thanks in advance for any eval's. Good luck to everyone else who has applied/will be applying.

Your positive attitude should be enough to get you in!!! I had an interview about 3 weeks ago, and I was so nervous!!! But we really clicked on our mutual love of Columbia and it's renouned professors. A hint (if they didn't already ask you): have a copy of your personal essay handy for them to keep in case they want to read it along with the interview. That way they can give a well-rounded out review of you. I too love Columbia and have faith in my personal essay. Hopefully I'll see you there!!

I only just looked at the date you posted, then I realized the interview must have passed. So how was it?

I finally got an interview last sunday. I got lucky cuz i got a guy who went to my high school like 20 years ago. So we spent a good 10 mins talking about the teachers and stuff. I don't think interviews have a lot of weight, cuz mine was pretty informal.
Hope you did well!!!

From everything I hear, its not that important unless you refuse the interview or completelly bomb out. Mine is on sunday at 8:30 a.m. in a coffeeshop in my town. The alumni also has one at 8 a.m. and one at 9 a.m. in the same place. BTW, there is no separatation between the college and fu; the alumni may know nothing about engineering.

Are we suppose to let THEM contact US for the alumni interviews? I applied ED and live in Nebraska... I don't know if there are any alumni in my area. Soo...
But I really want an interview, what should i do?

Yep, we're supposed to let them contact us.
Anyway, my interviewer said that he's supposed to send in the report by 1st Dec, not sure if it's the same for all, but you should probably contact your nearest alumni club thingy soon.

If it's all too far, maybe you could settle for a phone interview? I don't know, just contact someone and see what you can get outta it.
