Which one has a higher accpet rate for enginner?
By Argen (Argen) on Sunday, April 20, 2003 - 11:29 pm: Edit
The RD acceptance rate of Columbia SEAS is 25% this year. I don't know the number for Cornell Engineering, but its acceptance rate for last year was around 30%, and since this year Cornell has experienced a decrease in the number of apps, the acceptance rate must have gone up a bit. And the overall acceptnace rate of Cornell undergrad this year is 31%.

Damn! I got rejected at Cornell and accepted at Columbia.
So, Rsk, where are you heading off to?

I was also rejected but accepted to Columbia SEAS.
But right now, I'm deciding between Rice University (in Texas) and Columbia for electrical engineering.
I hope to go to law school for grad. Any ideas where I'm better off?

seems like columbia has a higher acceptance rate. what is the average SATI ? or minimum?
By Columbiaseas07 (Columbiaseas07) on Monday, April 21, 2003 - 02:02 pm: Edit
The average Fu SAT I for accepts was 1469, according to a CU report. I think that the people who got into Fu and not Cornell are a statistical anomaly. I have read of people on other boards who got into Yale and Princeton and not Fu, so Fu is right there with the absolute top colleges in the nation.

Columbiaseas07, I have seen your other posts, and you are an incredibly biased source. No one should take your posts objectively.

I choose Cornell of over Columbia FU.
Better program.
Good Campus...
And don't mind being in the countryside

By Kk02 (Kk02) on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 - 06:28 am: Edit
I think I've posted these before somewhere

KK, how were you rejected from Cornell engineering with those stats? Did you do anything outside of school? My SAT's were all equal or worse than yours, and my class rank wouldn't have been quite as good as yours, if my school ranked. I was still accepted to Cornell engineering.

Dunno, prolly they didnt like my essay, Duke liked it, so did Brown and Columbia, but Cornell didn't. I did have a few ECs too, but I don't know what they didnt like about me. I was pretty much lookinf forward to Cornell before the reject letter, but maybe I will look at better opportunities now that the Cornell bias is gone.
