Yes, you HAVE to send the scores through the College Board. Each school has a deadline as to which is the last test you might safely send. I think the Dec. 4 administration is OK as long as you are not applying ED, and you might have to pay for rush scores.

It's best to get everything in BY the deadline, not after or postmarked on that date.

As far as I know, all colleges require more than one rec, but there MIGHT be one or two out there that don't. I have never heard of them, though.

Yes you should waive your right to see the rec. Otherwise they are pretty much useless.

Sit down right now and create a listing of your potential colleges and their requirements. You can easily cut and paste from the websites. Get all the info you need: application dates, test requirements, number and type of teacher recommendations, etc. Sort your list by application date. Then you'll have one document to refer to that will have what you need.

Go to collegeboard.com and get the info on tests and time frames.

From what I've read, waiving your right to see the teacher recommendation means that the teacher can comment freely and not worry about you ever seeing the letter. However, my son said that he heard straight from an assistant director of admissions that colleges do not prefer one option over the other. So, there is no good answer for your question!
