I screwed everything up on my SAT II writing!
What score can I get for this crappy essay?

The most important decision made was when we finally agreed to tell our supervisor we had to start it all over again. We were in the final stages in the experiment with an electrical vehicle designed by us to take part in the International Robot Olympiad. The vehicle was perfect in its own right, but it could not get us into the finals. We have to dismantle the original chassis and build up another one all over again. We had little time left but we thought that might be worth it.
The importance of the decision two years ago was not that it got us into the finals. It was important because it taught us one thing: when we have to decide between abandoning something and continuing to support something, we choose the option which will rely more on our experience and knowledge. In the end we succeeded because we chose to forgo the chassis and build another one.
A scientist must therefore never make up a theory without enough supporting evidence. When he has to choose between continuing to support a theory and abandoning it, he should choose the option which will give him more opportunities to use his knowledge, experience and imagination.

It doesn't suck. It's above average (meaning 6+/12).

It might not be one of the "greatest" decisions ever, but at least it's personal.

i'd give it a 4/6

who is "we" you should have made it clear from the beginning.

man that's short...mine was the full two pages whatever space they gave us plus cramming in like 20 words in the last line.

it's short and has little coherence

a 3/6, maybe.

My daughter would always do this after her SATs--ask other people what they thought of her answers and what their answers had been, and then try to predict her scores--with a stunning lack of accuracy. (The essay is only one part of the score in any case. My daughter got a 790 on the SATII writing test, and while I didn't see that particular essay, I know that essay-writing is not her greatest strength.)

Please try to stop torturing yourself; the real results will be out soon enough, and a single score probably isn't going to make that much difference anyway.

I know it sucks (it sucks, not kinda sucks, by the way)
I just hope my score won't be somewhere around as low as 400.. may god bless me
and thanks, editrix.. I know it's not wise to worry about mys score when the results are not out yet

I promise you won't get a 400, and if you keep talking this way, everyone's going to be mad at you when you get over 700. Honest, I've seen far worse essays than this one. (Just curious, by the way--how do you have a copy of what you wrote on the test?)

I memorized it because it's so short :p
