Recently, I've become paranoid at the very thought of sending in my part of the application, and giving teachers and my counselor a stamped envolope to mail their recs as well. More stuff in mail = more chance to get lost, however slim the possibilities.
Also, wouldn't adcoms prefer to receive all the application materials in one big packet? As long as I have my teachers and GC seal their recs in smaller envolopes and sign across the back, would it be ok to send it with my part of the application in a big envolope, certified mail/return receipt for just the one package?

most colleges do not lose stuff. once you send in your app fee, they open a folder just for you. So don't worry, trust the postoffice that your stuff will come. Also, just mail regular, no need to waste money.

You may wish to include a self-addressed, stamped postcard - the admissions folks at the college will send it to you when they get the admissions packet. Include checkboxes for all the application components (application, GC rec, teacher recs, etc.) This will also let you know if your school has missed anything.

I remember being pretty paranoid about that stuff myself last year. I completed and mailed out my parts in an orderly fashion, and I recall being quite persistent in tracking down my HS and teacher forms. You don't have to send everything together or do any type of special mailing, but I suggest that you continually check the college's online status system (if they have one) or call them often to check if everything is received.
I made quite a lot of phone calls last year to make sure everything is in, and that sort of quelled my anxiety somewhat.
