I'm applying as a transfer to Harvard for the fall of 2003. I just got a letter from the Committee on Transfer Admissions requesting "that you be included in a small number of alumni interviews that will be done for the 2003-2004 admissions cycle." Considering that transfer applicants do not have interviews (what the website says), is this a good sign? Have any other transfer applicants recieved this letter. Thanks and good luck to all other transfers.

Hey Alfalfa,
I am applying as a transfer, and I haven't received any letter about inteviews. Does that mean I am already a reject?
What school are you transferring from? And what reason did you give Harvard for wishing to transfer? (in other words, why are you leaving your current school?)
Whether it is a good sign or not, it obviously has to be good. I don't see a reason for Harvard to interview someone they're not interested in.
Is anybody else here a transfer? Did anyone else get that letter?

Alfalfa, I think you're fooling us all.
Nobody gets interviews for Harvard transfer admissions. They haven't used them, and they're not about to start. If they actually asked you for an interview, they're probably trying to figure out whether you're for real..

NO THAT'S NOT TRUE!! ALFALFA IS NOT LYING!!
my best friend is applying to harvard for transfer from bryn mawr and she just got that letter today too--the one that says they're going to interview her.
She's really excited. It HAS to be a good sign. Like hildegard said, they wouldnt be interviewing someone they're not interested in.

I applied to transfer to Harvard as a junior for fall '03. I received the same letter, stating that "the committee on transfer admissions has requested that you be included in a small number of alumni interviews that will be done for the 2003-2004 admissions cycle." And I can verify that this if for real, as I had my interview yesterday. I do think it is a good sign and good luck to everyone else that applied!

I´m an international student who is accepted to Stanford´s class of 2007, but I still would love to go to Harvard, that rejected me for the class of 2006 and 2007. Given I work as hard as possible at Stanford, will I have a chance( at least a small) to get in as transfer or do the rejections diqualify me automatically?

Hey,
My name is Philip Ernst, and I was just accepted as a transfer to Harvard! I'll be entering in the Spring Term (january 2004) as a sophomore. I actually never got an interview, but who cares. Anyone else coming to Harvard?
Cheers,
Philip
