I was wondering what your opinions are on relationships with admission officers--specifically those that are responsible for reading your application and presenting it before the adcom.
I have been in touch with the admission officer for my area and he should be able to recognize me when he sees my application.
At selective schools, can this help chances of admission or not so much?
EDIT: Also, if there are any people out there who feel like they were accepted/had a S/D accepted because of this, please let me know!

it helps if you know an admission officer very closely. I mean if a student that stands a chance for admission knows an admission officer s/he would be definitely get in
