On the application it asks, "To which other universities have you applied?"
Thats the thing, I really don't have any second choices, I was thinking of applying to BostonU, and Fordham, but probably won't..
Do I leave it blank or throw them in for the heck of it?
Does it make me seem more serius or desperate about the school?
Thanks

So if you are not accepted you will stay in place? Then yes, as a transfer student I think it's fine to show you are transferring just for them.

Yes if I'm not accepted I'm probably going to just stay at my current school as its a 4 year college..
Would you say its an advantage then to put no other colleges down?
In my cover letter I stated that northeastern is my first choice for study..

I'm sorry I don't know enough to tell you with any certainty, but I think it may be an advantage in that they know you will go if admitted, and that you specifically targeted this school because it will fit some need. I wonder why you need a cover letter?

Its not required but it spiffed the app up nicely as well as told a little bit about myself, said that northeastern is my first choice, and that I wanted to go on to study law, and why I wish to choose the major I did...
I also said my visits to northeastern were great and left easy contact info..
I would put the cover letter on every app I think its great..
Anyone else feel differently?

I feel it shows you've really researched and just aren't interested in going just anywhere, showing interest in a school is always a good thing

would it be smart to send out those apps that ask that question first? so technically you haven't applied anywhere else yet?

I wouldnt know...
either way I guess by saying
"would it be smart to send out those apps that ask that question first? so technically you haven't applied anywhere else yet?"
you think it has some kind of advantage to put no other schools down?
I've decided im not going to put in any other schools, there really isnt any place else I would rather go anyway..

The way I see it... it's not good if that school is your safety. You know the Tufts Syndrome and all that...
On the other hand, I think its good if say you're applying to a certain type of school, say a LAC, and your other schools are LACs... so it shows that you pretty much know what you want, in this example a LAC type education.
Also, its useful if you're applying for FinAid and are a great candidate. If the schools feel the need to compete for your marticulation, then they might offer you more aid.

its where the school rejects over qualified applicants who they believe would rather matriculate to a different school, in order to increase their yield percentage and lower their acceptance percentage.
