How good is NYU Stern. I heard some Columbia students saying that Columbia is much better than NYU when it comes to looking for jobs in new york. They would rather go Columbia than NYU Stern. Though i know some people who were accepted at Columbia but not Stern. One more thing, do anyone knows about the average class size in Stern? i heard that some undergraduate classes can be as large as 400 (fill up a whole auditorium!!) But Stern has only 400 freshmen, so maybe it has smaller class size. Some people on the board are saying that Stern kids are very arrogant and uptight, and they think they are so much better than kids in college of arts and science, is that true? Furthermore, what is the appeals of a non-existant campus environment? Columbia seems so much better because it does have a beautiful campus in uptown New York.

sounds like you've made up your mind. however, if you plan on a wall street career, especially finance, stern is a good choice. if you have other things in mind, then columbia is better (be prepared for that Core Curriculum... while the sternos are studying econometrics, the columbians are studying goethe and milton). stern will get you a wall street job and you'll take it from there. columbia might also, but will probably take you to business school first, or number of other far-flung places.

not everyone is infatuated with the ivy league. to many young people, new york means manhattan, and specifically downtown manhattan. nyu is in the middle of greenwich village. what could be better? [i suppose i dare not speak their name, but nyu, like the Village, also attracts a lot of you-know-whats.] the upper west side, harlem, inwood... these don't make it with the downtown crowd. then again, as you aware, the stern students are not your average nyu students. they are all business. if you are all business, maybe stern is for you. if you are more liberal arts oriented, columbia.
