I have a bunch of choices
Cornell
Northwestern
Georgetown SFS
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC San Diego
Amherst
Williams
Waitlist Stanford and UPenn
Rejected harvard, Brown and Yale (after Yale called and talked to my counselor and even after the admissions rep said she was "for" me but lost "in committee".)
Still waiting on Princeton
1570 SAT, 2390 SAT2s, Natl Merit Scholar, AIME top 1%, tons of APs with 5s, lots of ECs, great recs, 4 year varsity/captain. I was the perfect candidate. Go figure... I know "lesser" qualified students got into Brown Yale Harvard over me.
Obviously all good schools. Yeah I was set on the top ivies. Now the question is NU and other large schools v the small liberal arts schools. Anybody have any thoughts?
Or are we all so caught up in the "I have to go to the Ivy's" thing that we would all jump at the chance to go to a name school? I come from California so I guess I'm really asking how Williams and Amherst are perceived in the east.
