If you could put another UC anywhere you wanted, where would you put it? I say

UC Tahoe
UC Mendocino

UC San Bernardino!

Um... just kidding.

How about UC Mexicali? No? UC Calexico? Can't remember which is which. ;)

Seriously, though, UC Moore Park. ;)

Anywhere but Merced

By Thedad (Thedad) on Wednesday, April 02, 2003 - 11:39 pm: Edit

Heh. The folks up at Fresno seriously agree with you. They were seriously...dang, I can't use that word here...off when the decision was made to locate the next campus in Merced.

One nice thing - make that the ONLY nice thing - about Merced is that its near Yosemite.

But not near enough!

Yosemite is pretty. But Lake Tahoe is prettier :)

Based on the current locations I'd have to agree with Thedad in saying that Fresno got really screwed. The next campus should def. be placed in either Fresno or San Jose.

Why don't they have a UC San Francisco for undergrads?

By L76 (L76) on Thursday, April 03, 2003 - 01:19 am: Edit

Who knows. They have an undergrad/grad UC in the other 2 largest CA cities, LA & SD (La Jolla). I think they should have it way up north, secluded (like Davis), where Humboldt State University is, for the nature lovers.

It makes sense to have an undergrad UCSF somewhere in the City. Use the old Presidio complex, or put it on the Marin side of the GG Bridge.

UC Napa? There's already a great state college in Sonoma.

UC Pebble Beach, preferably near the 18th hole.

By Thedad (Thedad) on Thursday, April 03, 2003 - 12:30 pm: Edit

Ah, but "golf" is nothing but "flog" spelled backwards. It was named "golf" because all the other four-letter words were taken.

Serious Suggestions:
UC Redding
UC Bakersfield
These two are for geographical balance. If you look at a map of UCs, these two cities are in the middle of the biggest blank areas in the state.

Fun Suggestions:
UC Malibu
UC Big Bear
UC Catalina
UC Palm Springs
