I'm not really sure how I *know* it's you. Somehow I always pictured you as being the kid on the left. I'm only assuming that on the basis of how you sound when you write. In the pic, you look like the more composed individual (that's not a bad thing, by the way). The kid on the right, on the other hand, well...I don’t know. He doesn't look like the Quarky I know, *laughing out loud*. The kid on the left looks like the more intelligent one (no offense if you're the kid on the right). The one on the right looks like he may be more of an athlete (hence the sweating), whereas the one on the left looks as though he’s more of a scholar (and he’s holding a piece of paper or something). I know that I’m making a bunch of ridiculous and obscene generalizations and all, but that’s just what came to mind.

As for next year, my neighbor has offered me an internship in the hospital where he works. I’d also like to get A+ Certified, and if possible, maybe even Network + certified (although that’s not likely). I’ll come up w/some other stuff to do, though. And I know I’ll apply to school next year.

(BTW, I’ve read about how you got waitlisted by Caltech. I’m sorry to hear about it. I hope everything works out).

Thanks for the post man. It's OK, I understand your careful observations and inferences. I will let u know who I am later. Yeah, I actually took A+ and Net+ courses at my school, but the preparation was so bad that only one kid passed the A+ and only one passed the net+, and it was the same kid. AND NOT ME!!! I totally bombed A+, but was pretty close on Net+... I don't want to retake any of them, because they run at like 150 per test...

Oh, and I apologize if I should not have called you "man." It is kinda weird that someone on a diff post says you called yourself "her" at one point (and then, I assume, edited the post to "his")... But on the other hand, would a girl even think about A+ and Net+ exams? I don't think so. If you put down "her" in that other post, you probably did it on purpose to distract people who draw conclusions too fast. "Incog slipped?" -- I don't think so. You can make people think that you slipped and revealed your gender, but you're smarter than that. So you can be either male or female, but my opinion is that you're male and tried to see if anyone would catch that "her" in the post.. Peace out, dude!

Some interesting info for all voters:

The guy on the right usually wears glasses; he wore lenses in this picture. The reason he wears glasses most of the time now is that he looks more intelligent in them.

The guy on the left also used to wear glasses, but he no longer wears them. Also contacts now.

The picture was taken a year ago at a state Science Olympiad (so both of them are smart).

I am ranked 4th in my class of 237. The other guy is ranked 1st in the same class.

Nice observation about the paper in the hands of the guy on the left. The guy on the right isn't sweating. If it is his hair that made you think it was sweat, you're wrong. He simply does his hair like that. Isn't it cool like that though? He doesnt do it like that anymore..

He's wearing a shirt that says "Athletic" something. He has a band-aid on his left index finger as well (did he cut his finger doing something technical? hmm...perhaps he was working on a computer or something. I only say so because that happens to my friend all the time when he works on comps)...

The purpose of sending a picture to a college is to give them a better idea of who you are. Most pictures reflect a person's inner qualities, or ideally should, so it doesn't really matter if the photo you send is actually you or someone you think is probably similar. Therefore, I have compiled a selection of pictures; you could always choose one of THESE guys!

I'm trying to put a positive spin on my waitlists looking at them as "opportunities" to send in stuff like extra recommendations, photos, maybe even essays I wrote for other schools (My JHU essay on "How would you spend $10 on a day's adventure" was my best essay for any school!). Well, the rules say that it can be any kind of technology that may be present 20 years from now (most entries are totally unrealistic, though. Those kids have an amazing imagination, lol). Well, we did our technology on nuclear energy through sonoluminescence. So it was basically physics and chemistry that we talked about. More chemistry, than physics, though.
