I know this African American guy who got into Stanford and Cornell with the following test scores and no significant activities:
25 ACT composite
670 writing
660 math ic
460 biology
going into either environmental eng at cornell or mechanical eng at stanford.
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Damn, I wish 17 years ago my mom had more interactions with tourists from Africa, if you know what I mean.

do you know his other stats? what does a 25 ACT equate to in SAT score?

Are you sure? I know what you're implying, but even with AA there are many more qualified minorities than him for Stanford and Cornell.

i find that some schools prefer to admit less qualified minorites in lieu of more qualified ones. hmm..

life's just not fair man. i got rejected from stanford, and although it wasn't a shock, it still doesn't feel to good. i mean, i had pretty good stats (1560/800/770/740) and decent EC's, but i guess being asian hurts in college admissions. hopefully princeton/harvard/yale will look favorably upon me. good luck to you.
