Im appealing UCSD, after much aggravation and many tumultuous issues, and im wondering if anyone knows anyone or has been successful at appealing. If so, what was said in your appeal letter? I've already written mine and sent it in. They have not gotten back to me yet. However, im just asking you guys for hope until I do get my answer.

oh man, Im sorry. I dont have a copy. well I do but noy on my comp. its too long to write out. but i basically explained stuff that was important to my life but no stated in my application. I explined why I couldnt be in extracurriculars (since thats why I didnt get in) and how important the school was to me. Also, things in my life the prevented me from doing what I was rejected for not having, in my app.

Good for all of you appealing, but I hope you all dont get your hopes up. They'll get about 1000 appeals and take only 50. You really have to have a perfect reason to appeal.

I think the reason why i got rejected was because I applied my first major as Biotechnology which is heavily impacted. But I was very disappointed that I didn't get in on my alteranative major which was Biochemistry. I don't think they put much consideration for 2nd major and I want to argue about that.

I've known people who successfully appealed to these schools:

Wingate University (podunk NC)
Elon College (also NC)
University of Florida
Radford University (VA)

i was freaken stupid too... i chose my major randomly from da catalog: "computer engineering"...which is something im not so interested but sounds fun...

Then next thing dat i heard was dis gurl who got 850 for SAT (she dun have so much activities or anything) got in da skool dat i wanna to go just caz she applied for some design majors and they rejected meeh...

well, DUH! I dont know how good your grades are but COMPUTER ENGINEERING is one of the or IS THE MOST competitive major at UCSD. so obviously, if you want to be in that major you have to be the best of the best. maybe you should have chosen a less competitive major. sorry.

idunno about computer engineering at UCSD.hrm.....but i know that they have one of the top bioengineering programs in the country. and i was stupid for declaring as biotechnology for my first major.

I won my appeal to and am going to attend UCSD. I won't post my letter because it was really personal and I wasn't expecting to get in but I did.
