I am a non-trad wanting to transfer into a program at one of the Ivies, Wellesley, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, or UC's. I took one year of high school Spanish. My first goal is to make up for that language deficiency.
What do you all think of the following course, the first of a three-quarter program at UCLA Extension?
Will it help my case? I am truly interested in learning more about Persian culture and language. I will likely apply to be a Women's Studies or Anthropology major.
I don't want to take Spanish because I'm practically a native speaker and want to learn something new anyway.
Elementary Persian Conversation
XL 10A Iranian 2 units $215
This course begins a sequence of three courses (XL 10A, 10B, 10C) covering the first year of college-level spoken Persian. This systematic and structured introduction to Persian conversation covers grammar and syntax, emphasizing the language of everyday conversation. Enrollment limited. Intended for beginners only; requires no previous knowledge of Persian. Students must be enrolled before the second class.
This is listed on the UCLA website as transferable to all the UC's, which is good. Any thoughts are much needed and very appreciated. Thanks

The best advice anyone could give you is this: talk to the people who would know. Contact the admissions department about it, talk to your counselors, get professional opinion. That's your best bet, but even that probably isn't 100% reliable.
