I was just accepted to University of Florida and the University of Texas. I am out-of-state in both cases and would really appriciate any information about either of these two school. Which one would you choose and why??

Hahahahaha! I can so help you! I was born and raised in Florida and I just moved to Texas. UT is the largest school in the nation. It is ugly, over populated, and impersonal. UF is much nicer. It is smaller, much more relaxed, and no one will ever make fun of you for being a Texan. :-)
I practically grew up in Gainesville (Where UF is). You can e-mail me if you want to know about other stuff. I would be happy to answer questions for a future gator! kellyjohnson88@yahoo.com

Well, I have to disagree with Kelly. Mind you, I have three degrees from UT, so I might be a little biased. Anywho, although UT is a big school, the only big classes I ever had were early general requirements courses that I really didn't care much about anyhow. UT is not the prettiest campus I have ever seen, but neither is it the ugliest, or even ugly at all. Austin is also a very nice place, with hills and lots of green, right on the Colorado river.
Of course, as always, it depends on what you want to study. If you want to do something in the natural sciences, note that UT certainly gets a lion's share of research funding and has been building major new facilities on campus continuously for years now.

But have you even been to UF, Brd? I have been to both campuses, and I can say that UF is a lot better. UF has one of the best medical programs in the country. The same can be said for Zoology, Biology, and Vet. science. I know that UT has a better engineering program, but I do not think that is what you are interested in (You would have mentioned it).
UT is such a big school that it is hard to get the classes you want and need unless you are in the so called "plan II" program. UF has a similiar program, but like nearly all other universities, they simply call it the honors program, and it is not so hyped up and elitist. General education classes are going to be large no matter where you go, but at UF they have all general education classes on closed circuit television, so you can lounge around in the bed in your dorm while you watch your English class on television. :-) Gainesville is a smaller, cozier town with a great sense of community.
Interesting fact about UF: They allow pets in dorms.

Well, given that Kayq has not yet said what he or she is planning on studying, it's really hard to make any specific comments. Although I will mention that I never had any real difficulty getting upper divisision classes I wanted or needed to take.
No I have not been to UF. However, not everyone want so to live in a small town. Austin is already not so big; I personally would not want to live anywhere smaller than it. Whether or not "cozy" is a plus or a minus will depend on the individual.

I am planning on studying business. I really want to know which school would be better for the whole college experience, not just academics. I want to take into account; the weather, school surroundings, people, sports, nightlife, and dorms! I can't make my decision!
