How are you guys who are submitting common app this year doing the academic honor section? What format do you use? Do you list straight down the page or describe in a paragraph what you have achieved? Also, in what section can I say that I have done community service?

I went down the page for the honors.
For volunteering, I put that in the section that specifies what activities you've been doing throughout highschool. Or maybe you could do that at the very end (under "other").

You could send in a separate sheet to the schools. Just note that you will do that in the 'Additional Information' section on the common app.
