These are my stats:

GPA: 4.06 weighted, UC gpa = 3.62. SATI=1450, ACT=33, SAT2 math2c = 790, chem = 740, writing = 750.
300+ hours of community service at 2 hospitals.

So far, i have got into Georgia Tech and Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and UCI all for Electrical Engineering. I was rejected from Rice, and UCLA. My status for UCSD still remains the same, I have not been accepted yet. What gives? If i haven't already been accepted, am i going to get rejected within the next few weeks?

Those are some impressive stats Smoke. You should have "smoked" me, but I'm in at UCLA and UCSD. Are you California local?

yes, i am. I live in southern california. I go to an increadibly competitive high school in orange county. I have a friend with almost identical stats and he too was rejected from UCLA. However, he was accepted to the Winter Quarter at UCSD for History. What are your stats, Crackcorn?

You can find my stats in the UCLA topic. Your stats are better except for "UC gpa". Why is your UC GPA lower than your weighted GPA? Another thing I had going for me was a straight A 7th semester heavy on APs.

Wow!! My stats are not nearly as good, got into both UCLA and GA Tech - as well as Univ of Wash (my home state).

The more I read this board the luckier I feel.

Guess I'll come back to Earth when the Berkeley / Stanford rejection letters come out and just be thankful for what I have.

the reason there is such a big difference between my UC gpa and my high school weighted GPA is because I have received so many B's (and a couple of C's) in honors/AP classes. I have taken or am currently taking the following AP classes:

AP European History
AP US History
AP Macro Economics
AP US Government
AP Computer Science A
AP Computer Science AB
AP Spanish 4
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP Physics C

I have also been taking honors math and science classes since freshman year. My school offers just about every AP class that you can think of. I also did a 250 hour internship at the Air Quality Management District here in southern California, last summer. i just don't understand why i haven't been accepted to ucsd yet.

Yeah, I can sympathize with you, Smoke. I have a 3.7 weighted UC GPA, 1380 SAT I, SAT II scores of 780 Writing, 800 Spanish, and 650 Math IC...pretty good internships I think: at UCSF pharm. lab and the SF Public Defenders Office =/ And my status for UCSD also remains the same...So far, got into Davis and Cal Poly, wait-listed at Wash U, and rejected from UCLA. Getting jittery...

For almost everyone UC GPA is definitely lower than weighted GPA
