Congrats!...was it your first choice?

By L76 (L76) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 09:30 pm: Edit

Congratulations. I hope you get into Berkeley as well. Was it not your first choice?

By Hautbois (Hautbois) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 09:34 pm: Edit

They aren't out for everyone though ... is this a bad sign for those who still get the same old message about being posted between the 15th and 31st?

By Nocalguy (Nocalguy) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 10:21 pm: Edit

I've applied to better schools than Berkeley, but it would be the best situation for me taking into account the cost. And you are right about it not out for everyone since I asked my friend and he still has "that" message.

By Ephnayllie (Ephnayllie) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 10:46 pm: Edit

Nocal, I was wondering what your last name began with...maybe they're doing this alphabetically?

By Kurgan (Kurgan) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 10:49 pm: Edit

I would guess that they're working their way through the ones that they're going to accept first and the ones remaining will be denied. It seems all of the ones who know are ones who were accepted.

By Nocalguy (Nocalguy) on Thursday, March 20, 2003 - 10:52 pm: Edit

HAHA My last name is Zhang. Maybe reverse alphabetical order? lol

Hey congrats, I just found out I got in from out-of-state, which I think is pretty good. They have me down for Revelle even though I want to transfer to Muir. See you there. Is anyone going to summer school?

Anyone else make it into ERC? I'd like to know more about the comparisons between each college.

Which is better as far as academics and reputation and general perception of the school, UCSD or UCI?

UCSD. The solid #3 in the UC system after Berkeley and UCLA.

By Proudtobemom (Proudtobemom) on Friday, March 21, 2003 - 03:43 pm: Edit

Son got in. Mathematics, Revelle.

Any real world comparisons of the six colleges?

Accepted at UCLA also. Now just waiting for Berkeley next week, then Harvey Mudd....and of course, the hoped-for Caltech.

I called up the admits dept and they told me that freshmen apps were released, but that transfers are on some type of rolling release. They said that means that some acceptance letters won't be released till late april for transfers... like me... =)

Anybody know about this? Any ideas for a lowly transfer student? At least I know UCSB will have me! UCSD is my first choice as a PoliSci/International Relations major. Heard great things about them.

By Dts (Dts) on Friday, March 21, 2003 - 06:07 pm: Edit

ucsd hasnt released all freshmen apps yet..

By 2132 (2132) on Saturday, March 22, 2003 - 02:57 am: Edit

If you are a Cali community college transfer- than you should be notified in the first wave of admissions for UCSD and UCI. However, UCB notifies transfer students last.
Bad thing about being a transfer at UCSD, in- state or not, is that you will not recieve on campus housing. This means that your housing expenses are considered personal instead of school related by the Financial Aid dept and so your cap on grant and scholarship money is much lower.

By Jdm2000 (Jdm2000) on Saturday, March 22, 2003 - 03:38 am: Edit

what about freshmen? are we supposed to be notified on the first wave if we are to be accepted? because mine's still pending.

By Kow (Kow) on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 07:05 pm: Edit

UCSD transfers: a friend of mine got in yesterday (checked online); ~3.54 gpa; bioengineering; rejected from UC Davis
