Hi there,
I am an international student interested in majoring in Business Marketing, but i am not sure about my chances to transferring into these schools:

UMichigan (a reach definitely)
NYU (my first choice, but very competitive and selective)
UWashington (I am in a CC at Washington State)
Indiana U (a match?)
USC
UMinnesota
UWis-madison

My stats:
GPA = 4.0
TOEFL = probably more than 250 (600)
did not take SAT, not going to
student ambassador since I came here
international students org social activities coordinator, will be VP next year
will get involved in community service club
student senator
will try to work/volunteer at tutoring center
PTK member

Please evaluate my chances Thanks a lot!
If any of you transferred/is transferring to any of the above colleges' business schools, could you tell me what liberal arts class you take?
For NYU, there are tones of requirements e.g. conversation of the west, world culture, computer studies ... (and my community college right now is in quarter system)

Thanks again!

May I ask which country are you from? (Not that it matters in the admission process) but I was just curious? :)

About your question of admission, I think you do have a great chance in many of the schools because they are not that competitive, and I'm sure the admission officers would love to have more diversity on their campuses by admitting students like you.:)

Newton_jin,
I am from Hong Kong.

i am very curious why no one replies to my post ... so upset, Thanks for the encouragement!

Are you an international student too? if yes, where are you from?

Maggie, I am not an international student, but I was born in China and came here ten years ago when I was eight years old. It is nice to meet you. I use to have a lot of friends in my old school that is from Hong Kong and Taiwan.:)
About your question of why no one replies to your post is because I guess people are kind of tired of answering those questions since school is out, and everyone has already received their college admissions.
But do not worry, I still think you should apply to the schools you mentioned above because you seriously have a great chance. Bye.:)

Newton_Jin,
It's nice to meet you too.
You are right, it's already 2nd week of June. People here must be looking forward to going to college.
Anyway, thanks again!
