What are the pros/cons of attending a university? A liberal arts college? Any input is appreciated!

From an academic standpoint:
a) the major advantage of a larger university would be greater options in course selection. For example, if you are committed to a very narrow or unusual field of study or if you are already at an advanced college level in a specific field, you are more likely to find suitable courses in a larger school.
b) the major advantages of a small liberal arts college will be much smaller class size, professors who get tenure based more heavily on teaching undergrads than research, no graduate student TAs, and (on average) much closer contact with professors.
Of course, academics is not the only issue. There are rather obvious differences in social life between a campus with 2000 students and a campus with 10,000 students. Both have their pros and cons.
