Hi,
This fall I plan on applying ED to a college where the avg. GPA of accepted applicants is supposedly 3.83. My GPA will be between 3.88 and 3.93, but I may have a C+ in one of my classes depending on how my final exam goes. Although I'm taking all IB classes (similar to AP/honors classes), and my EC's are fairly good (piano and violin for 9 yrs., Key Club and Lit. Mag. for 3 yrs., Color Guard and Spanish Honor Society for 2 yrs., and this summer I'm attending a program at the college I plan on applying to, and when I come back, I'm volunteering at the library for several weeks) I'm still concerned that that one bad grade will ruin my chances of being accepted. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks, I know this was kind of long!

Yeah you should probably just give up.

:) No, seriously it looks as if you would still have a very good chance at acceptance depending on the school that you are considering. Which school are you looking at? While your GPA is not perfect you do have a history of involvement and it sounds as if you are taking challenging courses... However, you may have to repeat that C you are about to earn, also depending on which school you are trying to get in to.

Thanks! The school I'm looking at is Barnard in NYC. I would consider repeating the class I might get a C+ in, but before my grade plummeted I got into the summer program at Barnard. We started to pay for it, so summer school isn't really an option. I think all I can do now is study a lot for the final!
