I'm attending UCSD in the fall. I got rejected to my first choice which was UCI. I pretty much know nothing about UCSD and have never visited. Should I be worried? Is UCSD a good school? What is the deal behind the six colleges within one school system? Ahhh so many questions...

If you want to learn more about the campus, look at my thread titled, "I VISITED USCD TODAY..." I am probably going to go there over UCB and UCLA because it has a great biology program.

in my opinion UCSD is way better than UCI.. its ranked third after UCB and UCLA.. then its probably UCD UCSB UCSC then UCI so dont worry

Really? I've always heard good things about UCI but UCSD wasn't really on my radar. It's only been recent that I've heard UCSD is ranked third. I'm just kind of iffy because of the whole six colleges deal. I'm not too sure on how that works.

UCSD.. i'm going there over ucb.. especially if u want to do something biology related or sciences.. like i'm going to be human bio major.

My choices are now UCSB or UCSD. I'm leaning more towards UCSD because it's closer to home. Yeah I've heard UCSD is good for biology or science related but I'm pretty much undecided in my major so I can't really determine base on my major. I guess I will have to visit the campus myself on Admit Day.

i don't understand what you people are saying.

i got accepted to cal, and am 90% goin...i went there today to visit.

i talked to the science dept head guy ( i happened to bump into him while i was talkin to poli sci ppl) and he confirmed that berkeley is # 2 in the nation of biological sciences...tied with harvard and MIT.

the next is SD at number 14.

how is sd better than cal?

i don't mean to sound imposing...just wondering is all
