This is from Princeton's admissions press release:
"International students represent 9.2 percent of those admitted to the class and come from 50 foreign countries, including Zambia, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Morocco and Peru."
So is this any of you guys? I want to see how CC fills the class. Also, if you're the one from Bangladesh, i want to know, because i lived there, and i want to know if it could possibly be me.
So Princeton ED or RD international applicants, please post your country.

I don't think so, but i'm going to call in about half an hour to see if i can convince them to give me my decision. Being halfway around the world does make it take some more time.

Amarsn, where else have you heard from?
| By Amarsn (Amarsn) on Friday, April 02, 2004 - 11:10 am: Edit |

I applied regular decision from Bulgaria and just e-mailed Ms. Varra from the Princeton admission office asking her to e-mail me my decision. We'll see if it works.

Isn't that a breach of policy? Then again I wouldn't know.
I got into Cornell, UW, UVA, and yeah Stanford. Waitlisted at MIT, and rejected by H and Y.

even though I'm a US citizen, i think both Stanford and princeton treated me as an international applicant. hurt my chances at stanford, probably, but nvm. With princeton, it just depends on whether they think that my living in bangladesh for eight years is diverse enough. Being a white guy is tough, though.
Anybody else apply to princeton from another country?

Foreignboy, are you still waiting on Princeton then? Would you go over Stanford? It's annoying how they're so anti-internet; oh well, I definitely wouldn't choose it over Harvard but in any case I haven't received any news either way.

No news yet.. doesn't look too good. My guess is you get FedEx for an acceptance, regular mail for waiting list/rejection.
Can't complain about where I did get in though!

This is what Terri Riendeau, Associate dean at Priceton responded to my e-mail:
Our decision letters were mailed last Thursday. We hope most applicants will
learn their decision via the letter. However, if you have not received your letter by Wednesday, April 7, 2004, we will send you a notification of
our decision by email. If you prefer, you may call our office on Wednesday to hear the decision over the telephone. I will add you to the list of
students whom I will email on Wednesday, unless I hear otherwise from you. That notification will be sent to the email address you listed on our
application.
Terri Riendeau
Associate Dean
Undergraduate Admission Office
Princeton University
Tel: (609) 258-0881
So it appears I'll hear from them sooner than expected. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Fetisha. Thanks for the info. Can you give us his e-mail address so that I can put myself into the list as well? Even though I expect the rejection, I guess it would be better to deal with the shock with e-mail rather than actual person over the phone lol

I live in London, got the decision today...waitlisted. Anyone know how many or what percentage were waitlisted.
| By Fetisha (Fetisha) on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 10:47 am: Edit |
Sure. His (or her?) e-mail is TerriR@princeton.edu.

Just sent an email to Mr. Riendeau. Asked him to email me my decision because I'm going crazy waiting for the letter!
I'm from Mauritius btw. I applied ED and got deferred to RD. In their announcement, they didn't say anything about those deferred students who got admitted... Could it be there aren't any???

Hmm... after going through the posts, I'm definitely getting a bad feeling - I don't think I stand a chance of getting a letter of acceptance from Princeton...
I feel like I'm one of those "weak applicants" they talk about in their announcement! Plus, I should have received the letter by now if they sent the acceptance letters thru FedX... Hmm, not a good sign at all...
I guess I'll be attending NUS then.. That's not a bad thing but my heart was set on Princeton... oh, better finish this up before I end up whining!
