OCC Transfer here... applied to ucla, uci, and ucsd. So far UCI has just asked me a for a transcript.. nothing from the others. Did bad my first quarter(2002) at UCD, but now am at a cc with a 3.95 gpa.

Korean that's pretty good. I got into some UC's (none of which you applied to) and I might consider going to community college to get into the good ones. Is that what you did? Also what are your extra curriculars or clubs?
Alpinesun: Is it easy to go from UC to CC? And when you transfer in do they see your UC enrollment?

Well since I'm in the process of looking into schools for transfer I've learned a couple of things. Like the other two I'm going to be a cc transfer to a UC school, hopefulyl for Fall 05 admissions. The trick that I've discovered if you want to know what the requirments are (and this does not apply to people who are film, engeneering, and a couple of other majors. As far as I know this pretains to Colleges of Letters and Sciences.) is that you go onto the website and get the minimuim for the school, then add .2 onto the GPA for what you really need.
For example UCLA wants to see a 3.25, however if you apply for transfer with a 3.25 you wont get in. The real minimum for admissions there is about a 3.45.
Get that add in a few EC's, and be sure to do a lot of major prep and you should (or at least I keep tellign myself) be fine!
Good Luck

torrance guy eh?
By Thelylo (Thelylo) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 03:15 pm: Edit
my friend's sister had an interview for the ucla regent scholarship, but the ironic thing is, she was rejected from ucla. you'd think that she would've gotten accepted if she had had the interview. she ended up going to berkeley anyhow.
By Alpinesun (Alpinesun) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 04:45 pm: Edit
going from a UC to a CC was easy for me. I went to my local CC and enrolled in classes that would start after i finished my second quarter at Davis.. then i just did some paperwork and left UCD after 2 quarters..
I think the UC's want like atleast 2/3 of transfer work to be done at a CC to be considered a CC transfer student
By Alpinesun (Alpinesun) on Sunday, March 28, 2004 - 04:46 pm: Edit
and yes, they do see your UC enrollment, because you have to put ALL your grades on your application

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.

How is it possible for people who get offered for Regent Scholarship and then they get rejected??
what is the primary reason for that?
oh and yes i am from torrance
and for extra curricular activities , i just put some library and medical volunteers and some stuffs from high school and pretty much stuffs from high school for awards, too
but i had really special circumstances for my family circumstances, so i hope that is a plus.
can someone put more info about this UCLA Regent Scholarship too? i really wonder how they get rejected after an offer of such a scholarship?
thank you~~~^^

The idiot who sent the acceptance letters sent out the automated email for the scholarship from the wrong list-- the list to those who didn't get it. Or specifically, *a* list who didn't. It's UC Davis specific and it's lame. Let's hope I get into UCSD, UCLA or UCB so I'll be able to look past it.

Do they usually notify you at the time your acceptance is posted of your regents/chancellors scholarship standing? Or is it a seperate process?

By Cvboy151 (Cvboy151) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 09:45 pm: Edit
Mocksimus- i haven't heard from either, but don't worry because I think that they just want to finish the freshmen and then they will move on to us. I think that by the end of this week they should start handing out more transfer admissiions. freshmen admittance ends tomorrow!!! yay!!!

I am a junior transfer from a community college (SMC) and have been accepted to UCI and UCSC. I am still waiting to hear back from UCSB, UCSD, UCLA, CAL.
By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Monday, March 29, 2004 - 10:01 pm: Edit
damn I hope i hear soon UCI actually contacted me for my fall 2003 grades because of a problem with the UCOP WIP website. When were you accepted to uci and what is your major/gpa. I am from saddleback/irvine valley cc which ahs about the same rep as smc so im hopeful that my stats are competitive for uci/ucsd/ucla/cal, 3.6 all of assist done except one class.
Thanks

Did the IGETC simultaniously satisfy General Ed. requirements for the individual colleges at the UC's say like Muir or Sixth College at San Diego?
By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 - 12:46 am: Edit
lalala,
I am IGETC certified also it does not satisfy 2 of the college i beleive sixth and revelle but you can check their admissions and relations with schools. I know that it does however satisfy lower divison ge for 4/6 colleges

Can anyone who got accepted to both UCLA and UCSD or UCLA and UCB post their stats up??
because it seems like everyone is saying that it's impossible to get into both UCLA and UCB at the same time cuz of budget cut or something?
i am very curious to know
thank you very much in advance!

Anyone have information on how you receive your regents/chancellors information as a transfer? And let me know if I have a shot at any scholarships at these campuses. UCR/UCI/UCLA/UCB/UCSD. I have a 3.6 gpa(opward grade trends)good EC`s, overcame some as far as disabilities are concerned ( went from a 1.0 gpa to straight a`s)

I was just rejected by Davis. I am totally stunned, I just cant beleive it.
A few months ago someone from Davis admissions called me on my cell phone and asked me to send her my latest Math grade (a pre-req. for the UC transferable course Im taking this semester...apparently to see if I passed the pre req., I did...got an A.)
There was a up, and they didnt get the fax, she called me back and I sent it again the next day. I never heard back from her. I assumed all was great, and that I was in , no problem.
Maybe they never got the second fax?
What do I do? I'm so stunned.... I'm not even mad yet.......Ok, now Im pissed
