ive only been rejected at PSU, which suprised me. ive been accepted at much better schools that are more selective than PSU is. thus far 6/7 isnt too shabby. only 3 more to hear from but im sensing two more rejections, one of which i will definitly appeal.

me Rejected by Trinity

By Fiza (Fiza) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 10:33 pm: Edit

Georgetown- Its my first rejection (so far). yey.

And yes I'm actually happy about that because had i gone the "safe" route and gotten accepted everywhere i applied, I'd feel regrets about that.

Big risks=big payoffs!

Plus, wheres the glory in getting into the "safe" schools?

By Lostnconfused (Lostnconfused) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 03:28 am: Edit

Fiza,

"Big risks=big payoffs!"

what exactly is the "risk" in filling out an application?? I wouldn't say theres any risk involved in college applications, there really isn't anything to lose except maybe the application fee.

"Plus, wheres the glory in getting into the "safe" schools? "

There's glory getting accepted anywhere.

By Jumpinj (Jumpinj) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 03:37 am: Edit

So far Ive been rejected by Lewis and Clark and waitlisted by BU. Really pissed about that

By Patito12 (Patito12) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 03:39 am: Edit

i applied to all the UCs (engineering) and only UCLA rejected me :( (1st choice too). but itll probably be for the best as ucsd engineering is arguably better.

By Dream2fly (Dream2fly) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 03:41 am: Edit

My rejections:

MIT ( My 1st rejection)
Colgate
Hamilton
Smith ( got the desicion yesterday)

Waitlisted by WUSTL

By Foreignboy (Foreignboy) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 03:45 am: Edit

I haven't been rejected anywhere.. yet, but got waitlisted at MIT. That should count to a certain extent.

By Xtrition (Xtrition) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 04:15 am: Edit

latest addition to the list --> rejected at Notre Dame. Though the letter says it was all due to financial aid. i'm international as well, so that probably explains the stinginess.

By Aydaa (Aydaa) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 04:51 am: Edit

just rejected by middlebury.can students who are accepted there post their stats?

By Frenchie (Frenchie) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 05:42 am: Edit

got rejected from BU...

By Bobthebuilder (Bobthebuilder) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 06:19 am: Edit

Waitlisted at MIT too, foreignboy ... Sorry to be discouraging, but at MIT, a waitlist is practically a reject, as they really don't take many off it at all, if any. But good luck: maybe you'll be the lucky one. (I haven't even sent in my form for that yet, and I'm still pissed off enough at them that I might not).

MIT is only rejection so far

By Azteca199 (Azteca199) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 06:25 am: Edit

Fiza,
You are right in saying nothing ventured, nothing gained. Applying to reach schools is risky because you risk disappointment and you expend energy and emotion filling out applications and waiting for the decision. Also I would rather hear about students like you applying to reach schools than other students applying to twenty safety schools they have no intention of ever attending, and taking away spots from other students. Sorry you were rejected Fiza, but you seem to have a positive attitude and good luck!
