Georgetown- Its my first rejection (so far). yey.
And yes I'm actually happy about that because had i gone the "safe" route and gotten accepted everywhere i applied, I'd feel regrets about that.
Big risks=big payoffs!
Plus, wheres the glory in getting into the "safe" schools?

Fiza,
"Big risks=big payoffs!"
what exactly is the "risk" in filling out an application?? I wouldn't say theres any risk involved in college applications, there really isn't anything to lose except maybe the application fee.
"Plus, wheres the glory in getting into the "safe" schools? "
There's glory getting accepted anywhere.

latest addition to the list --> rejected at Notre Dame. Though the letter says it was all due to financial aid. i'm international as well, so that probably explains the stinginess.

| By Bobthebuilder (Bobthebuilder) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 06:19 am: Edit |
Waitlisted at MIT too, foreignboy ... Sorry to be discouraging, but at MIT, a waitlist is practically a reject, as they really don't take many off it at all, if any. But good luck: maybe you'll be the lucky one. (I haven't even sent in my form for that yet, and I'm still pissed off enough at them that I might not).
MIT is only rejection so far
| By Azteca199 (Azteca199) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 06:25 am: Edit |
Fiza,
You are right in saying nothing ventured, nothing gained. Applying to reach schools is risky because you risk disappointment and you expend energy and emotion filling out applications and waiting for the decision. Also I would rather hear about students like you applying to reach schools than other students applying to twenty safety schools they have no intention of ever attending, and taking away spots from other students. Sorry you were rejected Fiza, but you seem to have a positive attitude and good luck!
