I applied to UCLA, UCI, UCSD,UCSC AND UCSB for Economics/Business Economics major. Anyone heard from them yet? Is it going to be rolling admission? I'm getting impatient checking five different campuses 4 times daily. I'd rather do my Calculus homework but it seems like the D-Day's been on top of my head lately... March 1-May 1 is a torture. They should pick a specific date.

nope i haven't heard from them yet. i am in the same shoes like you. i check the status almost everyday, and all of them is still pending. i applied to ucsd, ucsb, uci, and ucla. hopefully i get into ucsb or ucsd. good luck to you.

By Botheredone (Botheredone) on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 05:53 pm: Edit

I applied to UCB, UCLA, UCSD and UCD. I also applied to SDSU and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I was recently rejected from both state schools on account I forgot to send in my official transcripts.

I've heard from UCD, I've been accepted. UCB won't tell you until April 30th, UCLA says on the site late April.

Oh, some interesting news about UCSD. I haven't heard from them, but, if you you click on the transfer admissions day link on the StudentTeller page, it says it's taking RSVP's for the 4th week in March. Think that means something? I do.

BTW I'm so damn nervous!!

Communtiy college transfer here, only heard from UCR =P ucsd, ucla, ucb, uci still pending brotheredone that is kinda odd now you made me nervous =/ however it does say

"Newly admitted transfer students are invited to Transfer Admit Day on Saturday, May 15. These special events will offer you and your family the opportunity to experience UCSD firsthand"

Mocksimus, when did your friend find out about SB? online or mail?

By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 07:06 pm: Edit

online

By Westladude24 (Westladude24) on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 09:29 pm: Edit

It probably depends on the major you're applying. An English major student has already been admitted at UCI 2 weeks ago. Which CC are you guys from? I'm on my last semester at Santa Monica College.

By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 - 09:33 pm: Edit

how hard is it to get into a UC for transfer students?

By Derbisblue (Derbisblue) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 12:59 am: Edit

The stats for community college -> UC (Except Cal, UCLA, SD??) are pretty high. But the budget cut and all might make a difference, i don't know..

By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:03 am: Edit

my advisor at community college told me and I have seen friends get into uci for social sciences as low as 2.8 GPA junior transfer, my buddy got into UCLA with a 3.2 and another friend got into berkeley with a 3.3, I would suggest thought trying for a 3.5 as these may be abnormal. I think they are pretty easy on transfer students in general. The state schools are a joke and pretty much gurantee admission to anyone who graduates a cc anything over 2.5 and youre fine. The websites say they want higher GPA but if seen way lwoer in my friends I think they inflate their "wanted" stats to try to scare people of and look more selective.

By Botheredone (Botheredone) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:20 am: Edit

Counselors told me UCSD last year's average GPA is a 2.85. That seems low. UCLA's TAP program requires a 3.25. UCB I've heard different things. As far as getting in, I'll let you know when it happens, I have a 3.2

I hate admitting that, but eh, college GPA's are harder.

And I wanted to say the Transfer Day thing for UCSD, yes, May 15, but they said they'd RSVP for it *the last week in March* how exactly would they let people RSVP unless they gave admission letters? We should know in a week.

By Derbisblue (Derbisblue) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 01:25 am: Edit

I have a 3.4 (sociology major) @ Davis, trying to transfer to UCSB, i'm worried because i'm a intercampus transfer, we don't get priority. But i have good major preparation and stuff. *pray*

By Botheredone (Botheredone) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 02:02 am: Edit

I had a hair stylist transfer from UCSB to UCD so I'm sure it's possible.

Though she was a hair stylist, I think I'd stick with Davis.

Big bump.

By Derbisblue (Derbisblue) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 03:33 pm: Edit

Question, Why do some people already get SB decision, and others are pending, is this a bad sign?

By Botheredone (Botheredone) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 03:39 pm: Edit

Because SB is a bunch of stoners. And if you're worried about getting in there from transfer your grades must really suck.

By Nealyac (Nealyac) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 08:48 pm: Edit

im a high school senior and i applied to ucsd but didnt get in and i soooo want to go!! so, im going to jc and major in biological sciences and then transfer to ucsd hopefully. but when i apply to pharmacy schools do you think they are going to look down on my application because i went to a jc first?

By Westladude24 (Westladude24) on Thursday, March 25, 2004 - 10:02 pm: Edit

No, as long as you have a high GPA.Make sure to do good in your Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Calculus. Most of them are 5 units per course so a C would definitely bring your GPA down.

By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 01:50 pm: Edit

anyone know if uci/ucsd posted transfer admissions yet?

By Sardonia (Sardonia) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 02:45 pm: Edit

Mocksimus:

UCI informed me a long time ago about my transfer status.

Still haven't heard from UCSB :(

By Mocksimus (Mocksimus) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 03:35 pm: Edit

Sardonia,
they just contacted and told me they were having problems with the ucop WIP for some students and to send my grades, which might explain my delay. What major are you? I am poli sci within social sciences which is also a busy school, either way ill psot up when i hear if UCI denies me with a 3.6 ill be shocked (knocks on wood)

By Coffeeshopgirl (Coffeeshopgirl) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 05:50 pm: Edit

how do they treat transfer applicants with course work from a 4 year institution (other than the UCs)? i had a 3.8/3.9 at SDSU, but my grades dropped last semester to a 3.4 when i started at a JC.

my online status to UCSB is still pending. this is really making me nervous...

By Alpinesun (Alpinesun) on Saturday, March 27, 2004 - 07:26 pm: Edit

yeah, uci admission counselor emailed me telling me to send my UCdavis transcript (i attended for 2 quarters). She said they needed it before they could make a decision

By Manda213 (Manda213) on Wednesday, March 31, 2004 - 06:17 pm: Edit

sardonia: have you received in the mail your admissions package? i'm still waiting, and i believe it was the 14th of march when i learned of my acceptance..... just curious.
