Everyone who has not got into USC yet, post your stats. I hear they should be finishing admissions by April 1st. Also, what have you guys received from them (financial aid, 7th semester, extra info request..etc.). Start posting, everyone is getting really anxious. Thanks.

3.6 UW/GPA
1300 670V 630M
SATII 610W 720M1C 660Lit
Lots of EC especially community service.
No AP Exams, but 3 AP classes this year.
I interviewed.
I'm White. Parents are alumni.
I didn't apply for financial aid and I can't access the OASIS, so i think being able to access OASIS isn't necessarily a denotion of whether you r "in" or not.

the only people theyre letting in this year are minorities
By Emyh (Emyh) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 11:40 pm: Edit
Hah... define minority. I'm Asian and that's gonna work against me
By Theoneandonly (Theoneandonly) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 11:42 pm: Edit
i think blacks and hispanics have a thumbs up in admission to usc....asians are not so fortunate because there are so many in californian universities that they are not minorities anymore

Hence the sarcasm.

Yes minorities definitely do have priority this year. Out of 40 applicants at my school, not one white person has heard from USC yet. Hispanics, Blacks, and One asian bringing the total to 10 so far have been admitted from my school and no one has been rejected.

I have an interview scheduled for an alumni scholarship, but I don't know if that says anything about the status of my application or if they give interviews to everyone who applied for the scholarship?

S is hispanic, leagacy, lots of ec, gpa, sat "in range per adm officer-don't like to give #'s. Was told last week will know by 4/1. At this point I want him to be accepted but chose to go to a smaller LAC. I love the school, my sister loves the school, crazy grandma says she will live 4 more yrs if s goes to USC, might have to die otherwise -i told you she is crazy. I feel terrible I ever made s interested in usc. Really feel other school is better choice for s. S will have to decide. So brown legacy has to wait also.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys - I'm a freshman at USC, in the School of Cinema-Television. The whole OASIS thing doesn't mean anything. I never had access to it, and I was scared I didn't get in. But, then I got the acceptance letter and I knew the OASIS thing didn't matter. I don't think it matters if you can get into it or not, its not a guarantee one way or the other.
By John2004 (John2004) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 06:35 am: Edit
Benpet, did you get seperate acceptance letters from the CNTV and admissions office? Also, when did your letter come, before April 1?
Thanks!

Last year my son received his acceptance letter from USC at the end of February and his offer of admission to the Critical Studies program in the middle of March.
Things seem a lot slower this year.

I got my acceptance to CNTV somewhere around like March 25th last year, and then waited 3 days to get the big acceptance package to the university. I was really scared for a few days that I got into the film school, but not USC - because the CNTV acceptance letter says your acceptance to the film school is conditional upon your acceptance to USC. Of course, my thinking was "how could you get into the film school, but not into USC?" So, I had my mom call the film school, and they said that I was in.
Just so you know, at least last year, the acceptance letter to the film school comes in a small, regular envelope. I was actually on my way to a retreat when my mom called me and told me I got a small letter from the USC film school. I was devestated, but I was like, "okay, just tell me how they reject you then," and she opened it and the first word was "congratulations" and we bother freaked out over the phone.
John, which program did you apply to - Production or Critical Studies?
Tsdad - I've seen some of your other postings and think I live in the room next door to your son, are his initials JD-A?

the reason usc recruits jews is that the former president was anti-semetic or a nazi sympathizer or something along those lines and tried to prevent jews from enrolling there. or so i hear.

Us Jews are gonna shake USC like an earthquake..
uhhh, I asked the USC Office of Finaid if they needed anything else from me through email and today I got a response:
"Dear Flyguy,
There’s nothing else to submit at this time. We are now just pending on a decision from the Office of Admission."
Anyone think this means anything?
Sorry if that is a little ambiguous btw..

Also - is the ability to log into that "OASIS" server a good thing? Do people who have been rejected have access to the server or would being able to log in be a sign of an acceptance?
