So CGS isnt bad? i'm a little hazy on just exactly what its all about. I heard other students at BU percieve CGS as the 13th and 14th grade and not really part of the school

Did ANYBODY get rejected? Did they even put rejections up? My app status still doesn't say whether or not I was accepted. I could not have gotten rejected from BU. No way. Just...No way.

Holy crap, this is pissing me off.

By Recherche (Recherche) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 08:44 pm: Edit

i'm starting to think they didn't put rejections up.. this still doesn't give me the courage to check, though.

This thread is quite hilarious lol everyone is getting accepted?!

By Apguy4 (Apguy4) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 08:53 pm: Edit

"i'm starting to think they didn't put rejections up.."

I'm thinking the same. Ugh, this is incredibly annoying. Just let us know if we're in or not. Just holding us in anticipation is not going to help ease a possible rejection.

By Recherche (Recherche) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 09:56 pm: Edit

huzzah, i got in. still waiting from brown, yale, and gtown, but it's nice to know that i have options. congrats everyone :)

College of Communication
Film Major

I'm definitely going here. Still waiting to hear from Cornell, BC, and GWU, but out of mere curiousity now... BU's film program is awesome.

Doesn't seem like rejections were posted. :-\ Good luck to everyone who still hasn't heard! My application status changed around 6pm, after many other people already heard, so who knows?

By Emyh (Emyh) on Monday, March 22, 2004 - 10:19 pm: Edit

They said (mail) notifications are on a rolling basis starting today until the 15th. So that would only make sense for the online decisions are rolling as well.

That would make sense I guess. That is a large gap of time that they set. Must be a reason for it (hehe, I'm really trying to keep optimistic here. :) )

Decision: Admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences
Class of 2008

Congratulations, and welcome to Boston University. From a highly talented and remarkably competitive group of applicants, you have been admitted to Boston University. The Board of Admissions believes you will be an excellent addition to the Boston University community and will take full advantage of the wide variety of academic, cultural, and extracurricular opportunities that await you here.

We hope that you and your family will join us at one of the University's Open House programs in April. This is a wonderful opportunity to acclimate yourself to our academic community. An invitation will arrive with written notification of your admission. Please monitor your mail for this and other very important information from Boston University.

We also invite you to visit our New Student website to reserve your space at an Open House program or one of the special receptions in your area. This site also provides you with more information on housing and orientation and offers profiles of current students as well as your fellow classmates in the Class of 2008.

Once again, congratulations. We look forward to seeing you on campus next fall.

Sincerely,

Kelly A. Walter
Executive Director of Admissions

Okay, I just called BU on that number they gave. Turns out the decisions are going to be posted till April 15th. They are just moving it online "slowly". When I asked if only students that have been accepted have received their decisions so far, the guy responded "absolutely not"

Let's hope he's not lying. :)

By Deeny1414 (Deeny1414) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 12:06 am: Edit

Full tuition + mandatory fees

By Lovetheriver (Lovetheriver) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 12:19 am: Edit

how much is the mandatory fees? and what does that include? room and board? because if yes...dang i should've applied.

By Deeny1414 (Deeny1414) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 12:23 am: Edit

Mandatory fees is like 400 dollars...I don't think it includes Room & Board which is why I wasn't too upset missing out on the 400 dollars to keep a 3.5 as opposed to a 3.2...

By Deeny1414 (Deeny1414) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 12:23 am: Edit

My friend received this letter from Boston University. Please respond:

"Although we are unable to offer you admission to your program of application, the Board of Admissions has determined that the two-year core curriculum of the College of General Studies represents your best path to a bachelor's degree at Boston University. We invite you to begin your Boston University career at the College of General Studies. For more information on the College, including its innovative, team-teaching approach and demanding curriculum, please visit the College's website."

So, College of General Studies for undergrad? WTF? Help is needed over here, any comments. I think its between that and Saint Louis University for her... What do you guys think?
