You guys take the SATs so important. Do you realize that people who got a 800 on the SAT will probably be in your class in 1 year. Someone who never took an AP CLASS in high school will be in your class in a year. You work so hard for something that is easy to get. These people who go out of state are unbelievable. You pay 30,000 dollars so u can say I have a college experience and go to a school all 4 years. You guys are probably worrying how many analogy's you got wrong. Man these smart people usually become nothing. You crack under the pressure when it really counts college.

AP Classes, my friend, are very important in that they help to prepare you for the work load you may get in college.
By aa on Monday, January 27, 2003 - 11:41 pm: Edit
IB is a very good program. Similar to AP only that for two years.
By martinlewis on Monday, January 27, 2003 - 11:42 pm: Edit
thats bs. brain washed. you do not get any work load like that in any college. in college u are in for a rude awaken. you get test in college. u take notes. college work load is less than your english class in high school. you will probaly get 4 test or papers to write a semester. the ap class i took first semester we had a paper due everyday.

martinlewis, 1st off, you really have to take into consideration the fact that many colleges offer different amounts of work. It also depends on what AP classes you are comparing w/college work. Do you honestly think that you get less work in college if you major in something like engineering, and do you honestly thin...wait, WAIT A SECOND; THIS IS MARTIN LEWIS!
I LOVE YOUR SHOW!! WOW!! WAIT UNTIL I TELL ALL MY FRIENDS! THIS IS GREAT! THIS IS JUST AWSOME! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I CANT GET OVER THIS! CAN I GET YOUR AUTOGRAPH! I AM SUCH A FAN. WOW, I CANT WAIT TO TELL ALL OF MY PEOPLE. THIS IS AWSOME. HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON. I AM GOING TO GO AND GET MY FRIENDS. JUST WAIT RIGHT HERE....

AP is crap, i never took an AP class and i'm riding on a 3.75 during my first semester of college.
By dsfa;l on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 02:35 pm: Edit
No APs? What college exactly are you getting a 3.75 average?
By martinlewis on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 02:59 pm: Edit
community college not a bad thing lol. you prolably went to your second choise school. or maybe even last choise. next year i am going to my first choise school. who is smarter. who payed more?
By incognito on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 04:05 pm: Edit
martin lewis, dont come on to the forum and tell these ppl that AP classes are crap! The SATs, by the way, are very important. What the hell do you mean ppl in our class next yr wouldnt have taken an AP class?? Why not? A lot of ppl take AP classes, and its not ALL for college's sake god damn it! "you work so hard for something that is easy to get", well that depends on where you are applying. Tell somebody who got deferred from Caltech or Cornell that! "you smart ppl this.. and you smart ppl that..." What do you mean, "smart ppl", martin?? Is that just another term for a hard working diligent student??

incognito u are on this board all the time. u are a idiot. do u think it matters where if you go to MIT? THESE GEAKS DRIVE ME CRAZY. BROTHER WENT TO SETON HALL. GOING TO COLLEGE IS ABOUT GETTING A GOOD JOB. I GUESS U GUYS JUST WANT TO LEARN LMAOO. LEARN AT HOME ON YOUR COMPUTER
By Dyip10 (Dyip10) on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 04:36 pm: Edit
You take AP for the extra grade bump and colleges look at you more high you F*U*C*K*ING DUMB*S*H*I*T. Don't talk about stuff you don't know. Also, not all people who take AP classes are geeks. I don't take AP I'm going to, I'm only a freshman, I'm no nerd nor do I want to go to an Ivy. So STFU. Yes, my social life is probably 100% better than yours you fat ass white boy bitch eating your chips.
By incognito on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 04:40 pm: Edit
Dyip10, were you talking to me or Martin here? because i didnt say anything bad about AP classes
By Nkemdilim on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 - 07:06 pm: Edit
I take AP now in high school knowing damn well it won't prepare me in the slightest for college. If u didn't work hard to do well in high school, prepare for a rude awakening if u think u can get away with that in college. Unfortunately, u have to work for excellence (note I didn't say good grades) in college. I know this from experience.

a compilation of the dumb things martinlewis has said thus far:
-You guys take the SATs so important.
-These people who go out of state are unbelievable.
-You pay 30,000 dollars so u can say I have a college experience and go to a school all 4 years.
-in college u are in for a rude awaken.
-you prolably went to your second choise school. or maybe even last choise.
-who is smarter. who payed more?
-community college not a bad thing lol.
This reads like a speech given by Texas Dubya.

Those are all excellent choices I agree on all of them except for community college not a bad thing. I mean you could go there and transfer out, but I prefer not doing that. Also the point was AP kids are nerds not rich kids going to private schools.

Apply for the same job with a community college education as someone with an ivy league education and lets see who gets called first.
By martinlewis on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 04:01 pm: Edit
what a idiot u are. i said if u got to community college u can transfer to a pretty damn good college if u get good enough grades. AND IT IS NOT WHAT COLLEGE U GET INTO. IT IS WHAT GRADUATE SCHOOL U GRADUATE FROM. These days u cant make any money with just a undergradute degree in a lot of cases. im sure u want to go to ivy to be a doctor or lawyer. u guys are brainwashed by high school. my brother went to ivy medical. he is working with people from university of maryland to yale. it does not matter where u go
By meryl on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 04:03 pm: Edit
True. An education is an education. Period. F*ck all this ivy league bull sh*t. They cant give you anything that the other colleges cant give you except for a really good prestigious job...
By JLO WANNABEES on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 04:12 pm: Edit
Hey MIT teaches you time management. something that would take you 40 hours to do would take you 10 hours. That's something not every school has.
By Nkemdilim on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 04:57 pm: Edit
It's not about how much money u wanna make or about what you want to become in the future. It's what you do with yourself, your time, and your abilities that matters in the end. That's whay Gates, A harvard dropout, makes over a billion dollars a year.
By your local mayor on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 07:56 pm: Edit
YO i'm at a UNC system school! NOT community college! i went to a challenging private school that didn't count for much, but they made us work hard as heck for our grades. i guess that helped out.
vote for me in the next election!
By addicted to ap on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 07:59 pm: Edit
Why does everyone have to use the word "nerd" like it's a bad thing? Nerds are cool!
By DorkusMalorcus on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 08:01 pm: Edit
Right on addicted! Some nerds may even be dorks, and everyone knows they can be super-cool underneath! No seriously, i really mean it.
By Mattymatt (Mattymatt) on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 08:11 pm: Edit
... most "good colleges" would not accept a transfer from a community college, considering the education you recieve there is quite possibly lower than that in high school. You seem like your only purpose of posting here is to try to make yourself feel more confident in something that isn't true. You fuked up in high school, sucks for you nothing you say can fix that. community college transfer = no good college ... no good undergrade college = no good grad school
By your local mayor on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 09:16 pm: Edit
eh, sure mattymatt...my actual local mayor(Charlotte, NC) went to the local community college, dam, he must have funked up.

Mattymatt(Mattymatt)why dont you just shut your fu-cking trap you little piece of shhitt
. You dont know anything. Dont post this crap if you have no clue as to what you are talking about. My cousin went to cumminity college. From there, he went to Columbia. From there, he got a job on the stock market. Now he's richer than your sorry a-ss will ever be!
