What was the "cutoff" SAT for regents at LA? I'm guessing it's about 1350+? Does anyboyd know? I didn't get it, but I was hoping that perhaps a couple of my friends would.

It's very high.
And it's not based on SAT.

I'm pretty sure it is based on SAT. It is based on GPA and SAT alone, in fact. You also need a counselor to recommend you I believe. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, but it has to be at least 1500.

My friend is a regents scholar!
He has a 1500 SAT I, good SAT II's (not positive, but I'm pretty sure all in 700's), he's received all A's in high school (not even one A-!), I'm not sure what the GPA computes as, but he is third in the class. He has played varisty soccer, does volunteer work with Key Club and local hospital, etc.
Apparently he was in the top 1% of all applicants to UCLA. I don't know anymore though...

Top 1-1.5% of applicants based on scores and grades were invited to submit two recs and to write an essay from which selection was made.
