I posted this message at the individual schools (UNC-Chapel Hill)link. However, it says that posting is disabled and won't let me get in. I am very curious to knowing if anyone else got this email. They sent me an invitation for a chat room session which was only for Admitted students for early action.


"We recently sent you an invitation to a special chat session for admitted
students. We understand that this invitation may have caused some confusion as
you have not yet received your official admission notification. You will receive
your official admission packet on or around March 31; please review the package
carefully as it contains important information on your enrollment at the
University.

We congratulate you on your many achievements and look forward to welcoming you
to the Carolina family.

I am so happy right now..actually i am sort of shocked and it seems so surreal. I mean i was just checking my mail to see if I got something from my friend and here i found out i got in!!! I have a feeling a lot of the deferred kids(who are to be accepted) like me may have gotten this letter...not sure though

I'm kinda confused...The e-mail is for admitted students early action??? So didn't you receive your acceptance in December already?

thanks Candi1657 i was deferred early action and they told me they would tell me March 31 of my decision..so they accidently told me a little too early. But I sincerely hope that all of you that applied get in!!! I think sending them 2 letters and calling the admissons office must of helped me get off the deferral list.

We also did the same (ie sent D's midterm grades - all AP's all A's, also had guidance counselor call and called admissions)but did not get such a letter.
I am bummed..does that mean she did not get in.
When did you get your email?

Angstridden i honestly don't know if all the deferred people who have been accepted got this email. Maybe they sent mine by accident. I wasn't sure if the email was personalized or if it was sent out to everyone. I am really confused by this and hopefully will find out more information at school on Monday to see if any other deferred people got this letter. I was hoping that people would post if they got this letter or not. But anyways i hope everything works out for your daughter.I hope she gets in!!

BTW CONGRATS!!!! to you..
I guess I get a bad feeling since we did not get the email . BUT it may work out for the best as she got in UMDCP honors and its only 1 hour from home and lots cheaper as we are instate.
I just know she would have liked to have been accepted and made the choice...

Thanks, i'll let you know what i hear on monday. I am instate by the way. It stinks that your daughter is out of state. If she were in-state she would have definetly gotten in early action!

Here is the copy of the first email i got about the chat session.

So i got this letter and was pretty confused because i was not admitted. They then sent me this letter:

I got both of these emails on the same day. I don't know if it was a separate invite. I was wondering the same thing.Hope that helped any. Lol..i am still sort of iffy about this whole thing. What if its a hoax. I am calling the admissions office Monday to confirm my admission...

Unless she gets invited to the next chat session.
As I look at the site I cant even find the letter where it says she is deferred.
Maybe they just notified a set of group of individuals..(what letter of the alphabet does your last name start with?)
Then again..

My last name starts with K. And today at school none of the deferred people got letters so maybe there is still hope for your daughter! I hope she gets in.
