Err... Kanye West "Through the Wire" and Evanescence "My Immortal"
By Shahab (Shahab) on Wednesday, March 03, 2004 - 10:15 pm: Edit
my immortal is pretty good. how about chantel krezviauk "in this life" that was pretty good, that that teen angst and experiencing new things kinda vibe going for it. slept on for some reason though.
By Welshie (Welshie) on Wednesday, March 03, 2004 - 10:18 pm: Edit
The two most popular songs for this sort of thing are probably "Good Riddance(Time of your life)" by Green Day and "Wonderwall" by Oasis. In addition to that you could throw in "Mad World" for the cool kids.

Oh yes.
Hey Ya, definitly.
By Fruitios (Fruitios) on Wednesday, March 03, 2004 - 10:31 pm: Edit
yes, welshie has my vote for "Good Riddance(Time of your life)" by Green Day. Pop in some rhcp, nirvana, and sublime's "summertime" too.
songs/groups/artists that I can't stand listening to:
Evanescence "My Immortal" or anything else
Creed
Nickelback
any overplayed song on the radio
By Excusememixed (Excusememixed) on Wednesday, March 03, 2004 - 10:33 pm: Edit
I also liked "Here's to the Night" by Eve 6...it's sorta like a farewell to friends/enemies..high school.

My high school senior class (1967) voted "Born Free" for our class song.

"Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know, which way the wind will blow
Who's to know when the time has come around
Don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye."

It's all about ``Come Sail Away'' by Styx folks. It's also mildly inspirational... which is a plus.
The class before me tried to get ``Any Way You Want It'' by Journey, but the song was rejected due to sexual suggestiveness, which really wasn't why they wanted it. They wanted it because it's a stupidly awesome song. :-) They also tried to campaign for ``Funky Town,'' ``Safety Dance,'' and ``Freebird.'' You can tell they really didn't have much of a chance, but I think they would have gotten Journey if only...
Also, that Vitamin C song is called ``Graduation.'' Yeah, between listening to that song yet again and never having known of Vitamin C's existence, I'd rather die of scurvy.

Oooh yes, Kanye's song "Through The Wire" is awesome. I love Maroon 5 too.
But please, not Vitamin C's song. They always play it at graduations. It's so annoying.

(to the tune of Enya's "Sail Away")

Don't know when this song came out... but I would personally love my prom song to be "I Will Remember You" - the remake by Sarah Mclachlan. It's simple, sweet, and perfect.

i'm also looking for suggestions, but anything from our 12 years in school would be appricaited. im making kinda joke cds for all my friends as party favors for a graduation party, and they'll have the good (green day, etc) the bad (c'est la vie) and the ugly (anything spice girls) plus others (my heart will go on, i dont want to miss a thing) i know most of the songs suck, but its mostly meant as a gag. so anyone with ideas for somethign like that, i'd appriciate it
By Excusememixed (Excusememixed) on Sunday, March 07, 2004 - 03:36 pm: Edit
If you want to put a crap song on the joke CD, try Kathy Lee Gifford songs and some old Backstreet/Nsync type stuff. Better yet, how about Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, MC Hammer, O-Town..lol.
