i know that schools send out likely letters, but i just got a likely call from Trinity College (CT). a person from admissions called to tell me that my application was very strong and impressive. she then invited me to a "VIP weekend" on April 12th (or about then).
Needless to say, that made me very happy. Has anyone else received a similar phone call?

That's definitely a likely call. IF they're inviting to an April 12th event (after the decisions are sent out), it means you're in. Congratulations!

I would say it's better than a "likely call"- i'd say it's a "likely scholarship call". I got a call from UNC last spring telling me that I was exactly the kind of student they wanted, blah blah, and it turned out they called the people they were giving merit money to.
Not to give you false hope- but there's a good chance.
