Ok everyone knows that if you aren't top of your school/state and have a dictionary's worth of ECs you won't make it for Universities like Stanford, MIT, Caltech etc (I wanna do engineering)
So if I go for say University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of California Berkeley which are good but not top would the requirements be a lot less? Or would it be similar?
I'm an internation from Australia of Asian Background and Male if that makes a difference. And no, I am not a genius who did calculus when I was five if you haven't already realised that.

There are at least 20 very good engineering schools in the US and the starting pay from all is similar.

Well for undergrad, any school in the top 25 is about the same, and actually any school lower than the top 25 is about the same. Actually you know what, I am a firm believer that the oppurtunities are there where ever you go.
U of M and Cornell are awesome schools and I would def go to them. THey are also competitive and the expectations just as high.
