Should I give one to my teacher? It was for a summer program, is it "proper" to do so?

We purchased small boxes of chocolates from Borders to give to the teachers. I opened one to show my one D. and was stunned to see a chocolate was missing! Needless to say I returned them all and purchased several sealed boxes of truffles from another shop.

Yes you should write thank you notes and maybe buy some gifts for your teacher.
