California probobly has the most diverse and most good colleges of any state. Stanford is one of the most prestigious Universities in the world. Cal Tech is the best math science college in the nation along with MIT. UCLA and UC Berkeley are two of the best public schools in the nation. Pomona and Claremont McKenna are 2 of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. UCSD is also good, espessially in the sciences. Harvey Mudd is one of the best and most prestigious schools for math and science.

Well, California is as big as many New England states put together, so it MAY be an unfair comparison : )

That said, California has some great schools, and very diverse (I'm applying to five myself: Stanford, Berkeley, Pomona, USC, UCSB)

"most diverse and most good"

Nah, I'd have to say that Massachusetts has the "more bestest" schools in a greater concentration. Boston College, Boston University, UMass, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, etc. As someone stated, comparing California with other states is unfair. Besides, California should be two states. Southern California has no culture and steals all of our water.

Southern Cal has no culture? If we didn't kill each other we would be the most diverse ethnic grouping on the planet.
