Just the other day I got an email from UCB requesting me to answer a questionnarie and send a teacher recommendation letter. In the letter it said that only a small number of people were choosen for this and it could only help my chances. The questions on the questionnaire are essay style and fairly personal. My GPA wieghted for the first 3 yrs is about a 4.0 and this semester I recieved straight A's (i have 5 classes), 4 of them from AP classes. I'm thinking that this email is a good sign and perhaps they are really considering me. What do u think?

My daughter's EAOP counselor confirmed these e-mails went out to a small group of applicants, and that UCB is the only UC school doing this. He said it's to give the admissions officers more information about you, and is a good (rare) opportunity to provide a LOR. He speculated, but wasn't sure, that one of your essays might not have given enough information and this is a chance for them to learn more about you.

Good luck!
