what are my chances getting into a good performing arts school if my grades are not very good but i have alot of talents? i can read music and i sing in a internationally known choir in my city, i have been playing the drums and piano for 12 years and im ONLY 16, i've taken TONS of acting classes and have been in a host of plays, and last but not least i go to one of the hardest schools in my city, it is private and college prepratory. please help, the only thing that is horrible are my grades, please give me any advice that you have for me, thanx!

Sarah - it depends on what type of performing arts school you are looking at. Schools that specialize in the performing arts, such as music conservatories, don't usually worry to much about grades. However, programs within a larger university usually have to follow the specific admission requirements of the larger university. I think they have some latitude, but most of these schools also have some academic requirements outside of the performing arts program and they need to feel that you will be academically successful in the wider program.
The fact that you go to a competitive private school will help you somewhat. What area of performing arts are you interested in? What kind of schools do you think you want to look at?
