"Briefly describe any scholastic distinctions or honors you have won beginning with ninth grade."
How your guys answer this question?? you list them out and explain each of them by using phrases ? or you made them as an essay by using beautiful language?

describe what they are if u dont have that many, as for me, i have too many and it wont let me fit them in, so i just listed in point format

like this:
4th in Intel;2nd in Canada on XXXX;4th in Canada XXX... etc
at least that's what i did, my interview guy from MIT said universities usually have a list of what each top award is, like Intel ISEF, they know exactly what it is so u dont have to explain it; as for like "most eggs cooked in one hr" award, u might need some explaination?

OH, right. but my award really need to explain, since they are all minor ones. hehehe
any other idea??

when u send in the supplement, send in a list of ur awards with some explaination, make it brief... then do a resume with full explainations, and tell them on the brief sheet to refer to resume if they dont understand anything....
i listed a whole page of my awards very brief, like name of the award, what place i got, which yr, then told them to refer to resume; besides, awards are just to impress them, they probably wont look into it that much

oh, i see. That's a realy great idea. what if i make a table with the brief description like: grades when received, decription on ***honor, ect.
Is this required for all school? like resume?

I didn't have that many awards, at least ones that I felt would help me out all in the admissions process. So, I listed the normal National Merit, AP scholar awards and then about 1 or 2 others. One of them corresponded with one my activities, so I took the opportunity to explain why the award meant the most to me.

Your format is good too.
but for me, my awards are all school ones. They are not a little impressive. how do you guys think about this format for listing awards:
9th grade:
1st place in AAA competition: an annual competition that holds in **********.
2nd Place in BBB competition: bla bla bla
10th grade
1st place in AAA competition(same as 9th grade)
......
......
