I received a letter today from the Telluride Association. Apparently, it's an organization that pays for people with very high PSAT scores to attend a liberal arts class during the summer. I have never heard of it before. Is it prestigous? Will it turn heads in admissions offices? Any information on this subject is appreciated.

I don't know a lot about it (my boys are math/science kids), but from what I have read/heard: yes, it is very prestigious (I've heard it compared to RSI (math/science) at MIT). I believe it's VERY competitive. If I had a humanities type child I would certainly encourage him to apply. Do a message search, there are several threads here about it. Good luck

Yes, it is well known. If you think you would enjoy any of the classes they offer, go for it.

My friend went to it. They want to cultivate a culturally unique and bright class. It's held at Cornell, is very reading intensive, and my friend said that they were extremely bright, and it is extremely prestigious.
I was going to apply too, but I lost my $@%)ing application..it's ok, I went to Governor's School instead.
My friend got in ED at Amherst, BTW (He's hispanic.)
